The ultrasonic MaxSonar sensor is small and unobtrusive, and delivers great performance for the money. The sensor readings can be occasionally obstructed by interference - excessive noise and vibration, vegetation, spray and mist, or insects nesting inside the cone. It requires maintenance, especially in the summer/fall season, to perform optimally.
