Satellite Connectivity for Flood Monitoring Resilience
Flood monitoring only works if the data gets through. Green Stream Technologies helps communities maintain real-time flood awareness in places where cellular coverage is unreliable — and during disasters when traditional communications may fail. By offering both LTE and Iridium satellite connectivity, Green Stream delivers resilient flood monitoring for rural rivers, coastal communities, and storm-prone infrastructure where every minute matters.
New Flood Monitoring Stations Installed Upstream of the Ashley River
SECOORA and Dorchester County Emergency Management have partnered to install a new real-time water level monitoring station upstream of the Ashley River near Charleston, South Carolina. The project improves local flood awareness by providing emergency managers and communities with live environmental data during heavy rain and flood events. Green Stream supported the deployment with its rugged monitoring system designed for continuous operation in challenging field conditions.
Hampton Roads Expands Regional Roadway Flood Monitoring Network
A regional initiative led by the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission (HRPDC) is expanding real-time roadway flood monitoring across Hampton Roads to improve transportation safety, emergency response, and public situational awareness. Building on lessons learned from earlier pilot deployments, the project combines flood sensors, regional data sharing, and public alerting systems to help communities better monitor flooded roads and tidal impacts. Green Stream is supporting the deployment and integration of monitoring systems that will share data with the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM), the National Weather Service’s National Water Prediction Model, and future roadway warning applications including Waze.
Local News Spotlights Flood Warning Technology in Botetourt County
A regional flood resilience project in Botetourt County is bringing together real-time environmental monitoring, advanced flood prediction, and actionable emergency warnings to help communities respond more effectively to severe weather. The collaboration between Green Stream Technologies, FloodMapp, and The Warn Room was recently featured in a local news segment highlighting the potential life-saving value of modern flood intelligence systems.
